Non-Profit Gambles Big and Comes Out on Top

SEED is excited to announce it has raised more than $20,000 from its “All in for Education” Casino Night. All funds raised will be used to grant awards to Dover teachers for innovative learning proposals to promote academic excellence in Dover schools. In addition to dozens of table, prize, and auction sponsors, the high roller sponsors include Cocheco River Orthodontics, Red’s Shoe Barn, Seacoast United Baseball, and Jewelry Creations.

There were three big gambling winners: Jeff DeRosa, Jan Boyatsis, and Rocky D’Andrea. “’All in for Education’ was hugely successful in both raising funds for SEED and raising awareness about SEED and its mission to support Dover Public Educators,” said Karen Duffy, SEED event committee chair. Community support of SEED’s efforts to invest in innovative curriculum and twenty-first century technology for Dover schools is vital to Dover’s future, which is why so many companies and organization were quick to sponsor the event.

Twice annually, SEED funds innovative grants to support positive growth towards ever-changing educational demands. To learn more about building a stronger community and school system, please visit http://www.DoverSEED.org
