SEED Receives Continued Support for Education

D.F. Richard Donates $2,500

SEED is pleased to announce a $2,500 donation from D.F. Richard Energy. This generous contribution will help SEED support the April funding period, now underway.

As a returning SEED sponsor, family owned and operated D.F. Richard has been serving communities throughout the seacoast since 1932. In eight decades of service, the energy leader has grown to a client base of 15,000 customers and serves as the area’s premier supplier of heating oil, propane gas and heating services. “As a fixture in the Seacoast and southern Maine heating and propane market, we understand the importance in staying ahead of constantly changing conditions and demands, to be the best we can for our customers and community,” said Rick Card of D.F. Richard “We admire SEED’s similar pursuit in innovating new educational opportunities and experiences to improve Dover schools.”

SEED recently closed its spring funding period where it received 18 grant proposals totaling just less than $50,000 in requests. The grant selection committee is currently reviewing applications and will announce winners during May 2016. In some instances, awards will be put to use in the current school year, while other awards will be used during the 2016-2017 school year.

SEED sponsors share the common belief that contributing to Dover’s schools is truly a positive investment for a stronger community. Sponsorship supports new and unique opportunities for educators and students alike to stay ahead of ever changing 21st century demands.
