DOVER, NH, May 15, 2019 – The Seacoast Educational Endowment of Dover (“SEED”), a non-profit organization that promotes academic excellence by providing innovation grants to Dover educators, is pleased to announce Newburyport Bank has pledged $2,000 to help fund grant awards for ground-breaking learning projects to be implemented across the Dover school district.
Since 2003, Newburyport Bank has donated more than $2 million dollars through its charitable foundation, which is dedicated to helping the customers and communities it serves. Fundraisers alone can’t support the demand SEED is seeing. “During our last grant cycle, we received more than $100,000 of grant requests with an incredible mix of innovative and exciting learning initiatives,” said Sue Vitko, Chair of the Grant Making Committee. “We can’t emphasize enough how important support from our business community is to our ability to underwrite these projects and achieve academic excellence.”
SEED awards grants twice annually for projects to be implemented across the Dover school district. Earlier this month, SEED provided more than $15,000 to purchase tools and curriculum across all grade levels; from digital calibers, 3-D modeling kits, and KIBO robotic kits, to sensory pathways materials, Rocketbooks, and Artists in Residency fees.
