DOVER, NH, May 9, 2019 – The Seacoast Educational Endowment of Dover (“SEED”), a non-profit organization that promotes academic excellence by providing innovation grants to Dover educators, was recently selected by Twenty Local Nail Beautique as its Dollar Day recipient. The effort raised more than $200 in funds and generated non-profit awareness amongst Twenty Local customers.

Founded by co-owners Nicholle Russell and Amanda Hill, Twenty Local Nail Beautique opened its doors to downtown Dover in 2018. Part of the nail salon’s business model is to regularly feature a nonprofit to its clients to raise awareness and funds. Since then, Twenty Local has collectively donated more than $600 to End68 Hours of Hunger, Cocheco Valley Humane Society, Amy’s Treat, Community Toolbox and Mary Kay Foundation and provided holiday support to the Dover Children’s Home and the Chase Home of Portsmouth. “We are committed to the community we work and live in,” said Russell. “And we recognize charitable organizations serve a vital role in the Seacoast, we want to support that.” The nail salon is getting ready to commemorate its first year anniversary with a celebration planned for May 18, 2019 from 12:00pm-3:00pm. The event will offer free give-aways, door prizes, local artists, beverages, and light appetizers.

The SEED awards grants twice annually for projects to be implemented across the Dover school district. Earlier this month, SEED provided more than $14,000 to purchase tools and curriculum across all grade levels; from digital calibers, 3-D modeling kits, and literacy curriculum, to sensory pathways materials, Rocketbooks, and Artists in Residency fees.  “We were honored to be selected as Twenty Local’s featured charity,” said Kelly Glennon, SEED Board Member and Fundraising Chair. “It’s businesses like these that lend to the fabric of our society.”
