We are pleased to announce SEED will be serving as the new administrator of the Harvey Knepp scholarship fund.

Harvey Knepp was Dover High School’s longest tenured principal.  The honorary scholarship fund ensuring his legacy lives on was originally launched in 2012, by the Dover High School Homecoming Committee.

Following his time in the Army during World War II, Knepp earned a degree from Harvard University in just three years. He was hired at DHS in 1950 to teach physics and returned from serving in Germany to become assistant principal in 1956. He went on to become principal in 1962, a position he held for 13 years. He retired in 1982 and served on the School Board until 1984. Knepp passed away on December 11, 2011 at the age of 91.

Praised by all those who knew and worked with him, Knepp left a lasting impression on many. “He could have done anything he wanted and he chose education,” said Kent Rossberg, who was hired at Dover High School by Knepp.

He’s remembered for having compassion for students and always being there to receive a parent who was having difficulty or seeking answers.

SEED is pleased to announce the generous donation of $510 to the Harvey Knepp Scholarship Fund from the Dover High School Class of 1964.

SEED is now accepting donations to support the Harvey Knepp Scholarship Fund, which will be annually awarded to a deserving Dover High School student.
